SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
Extreme Makeover Home Edition
Gary Jr participated in the Extreme Makeover Home Edition in Toledo for the Frisch family. Gary worked on the framing crew helping with the building of the walls and roof structures. Gary also had a special project. He was given the task of building the master bedroom fireplace wall.
"It was a very good experience. I was so happy to be apart of such a noble cause and helping this very deserving family. Very few of us know each other. However, it was neat the way everyone came together and worked as a team. It is definitely something I will never forget."
Women's Car Care Clinic
Recently we offered the women of our community a free women's car care clinic. We wanted to educate women clients in the area about auto repair and expand their knowledge of proper vehicle maintenance. The clinic was designed to "take the scare out of auto repair" and provide some helpful knowledge of how your car operates. The clinic was a great success. We had 24 women attend the clinic. We had lots of fun, we learned a lot and everyone walked away with a free gift. Watch for information on upcoming women car care clinics. We are planning to offer them twice a year. We hope to see you there.
Salvation Army Food Pantry Drive
Here at Toledo Auto Care we offered free brake jobs for our clients for the month of October in exchange for food to help restock the food shelf at our local Salvation Army food pantry. "We recently were made aware of the shortage of food for the food shelf, so we thought we would do something special for the community by offering free brake pads and shoes and the labor to install them to any of our clients that brought in ten non-perishable food items for the food shelf" said Gary Pontious. "We were very pleased with the support of our clients for this worthy cause."
Little League Coach
Gary Pontious Jr enjoys coaching his sons soccer teams each spring and fall. Gary also has coached his sons baseball team and daughters softball team.
"It is such a rewarding experience to work with these kids and see them improve as the season goes on" said Gary. "I also enjoy it because it gives me more opportunity to spend with my kids."
Silent Auction Donations
We have been a part of many silent auctions, donating various services. "One of the recent auctions we were involved in was close to me. A long time friend of mine was needing brain surgery due to brain cancer. Our church held a silent auction benefit for him to help raise support money for him and his family. We were very happy we could be a part of helping raise money for a great guy and friend" said Gary Pontious Jr.
